A Better Solution Than Prosthetic Socks? Meet Ethnocare at OTWorld 2026

Ethnocare is proud to announce that we will once again be attending OTWorld 2026, taking place from May 19 to May 22 in Leipzig, Germany. You can find us at Hall 5, Stand D14.

As one of the world’s leading events in orthotics and prosthetics, OTWorld brings together clinicians, manufacturers, researchers, and people living with lower limb amputation from around the globe. For Ethnocare, participating once again is an exciting opportunity to connect with the community, introduce our latest innovations, and discuss one of the most common day-to-day challenges faced by many lower limb amputees: limb volume variation.

Why limb volume variation matters

For many people living with below-knee amputation or above-knee amputation, limb volume variation is part of everyday life. Residual limbs can change in volume throughout the day due to activity level, temperature, fluid retention, and many other factors. These fluctuations can affect socket fit, comfort, suspension, and overall stability.

Traditionally, many prosthesis users rely on prosthetic socks to manage these daily changes. While prosthetic socks remain a common solution, they can also be inconvenient. Adding and removing socks throughout the day can interrupt activity, create pressure points, and make it difficult to maintain a consistent prosthetic fit.

That is exactly why Ethnocare developed the Overlay.

A prosthetic device designed for lower limb amputees

The Overlay is an adjustable prosthetic device designed to help manage daily limb volume changes without requiring users to constantly add or remove prosthetic socks. By helping adapt fit throughout the day, the Overlay offers a modern prosthetic socks solution for people living with lower limb amputation.

Available for both below-knee amputees and above-knee amputees, the Overlay is designed to help improve:

  • prosthetic fit

  • socket comfort

  • suspension

  • everyday stability

  • confidence during daily activities

Rather than relying only on socks to compensate for fit changes, users can benefit from a solution designed specifically to respond to volume fluctuations in a more practical and dynamic way.

Why OTWorld 2026 matters for Ethnocare

Returning to OTWorld is especially meaningful for us because it gives us the opportunity to meet directly with the people who matter most: prosthesis users, clinicians, distributors, and partners.

This year at OTWorld, visitors will have the chance to:

  • learn more about the Overlay and how it helps address limb volume variation

  • discover solutions for both below-knee amputation and above-knee amputation

  • see new prototypes

  • meet the Ethnocare team in person

  • ask questions directly at the booth

  • discuss product access and next steps

For us, OTWorld is more than just a trade show. It is a chance to keep listening, learning, and improving alongside the global O&P community.

For prosthesis users attending OTWorld

If you are a prosthesis user attending OTWorld, this is a great opportunity to experience Ethnocare up close.

If you live with below-knee amputation or above-knee amputation and are looking for a better alternative to constantly adjusting prosthetic socks, our booth is the perfect place to start. You will be able to meet our team, discover new prototypes, and even explore free trial opportunities.

We will also be available to provide the information you need on the spot if you are interested in getting your own Overlay.

For clinicians attending OTWorld

If you are a clinician, OTWorld 2026 is the ideal moment to stop by and discuss the challenge of limb volume variation with us directly.

For many clinicians, managing socket fit issues remains one of the biggest ongoing challenges in prosthetic care. If you are currently relying on prosthetic socks or padding as the main adjustment strategy for your patients, we would be pleased to show you how the Overlay can serve as an innovative prosthetic socks solution for both transtibial and transfemoral applications.

Visit us at Hall 5, Stand D14 to learn why more professionals are paying attention to new approaches to prosthetic fit and comfort.

Looking for distribution opportunities?

OTWorld is also a great opportunity for potential distributors who want to learn more about Ethnocare and discuss business opportunities during the show.

If you are interested in distributing our products, please contact lp.garneau@ethnocare.ca so we can arrange dedicated time to meet during OTWorld 2026 in Leipzig.
