Ethnocare Fights for Prosthetic and Orthotic Access: The 28x28 Challenge

Ethnocare Fights for Prosthetic and Orthotic Access: The 28x28 Challenge

Ethnocare Is Moving for Better Prosthetic and Orthotic Access

This July, Ethnocare is proud to sponsor and participate in the 28x28 Mobility Challenge, presented by So Every BODY Can Move.

The challenge encourages participants to move for 28 minutes a day for 28 days, raising awareness and support for a mission that strongly aligns with Ethnocare’s vision: improving access to mobility, comfort, and prosthetic solutions that help people live more active and independent lives.

What Is the 28x28 Mobility Challenge?

The 28x28 Mobility Challenge is a national initiative supporting the work of So Every BODY Can Move, an organization advocating for better access to prosthetic and orthotic care for physical activity.

Their goal is to help advance access in 28 states by the 2028 Paralympic Games, making movement, sports, and recreation more accessible for people with limb loss, limb difference, and mobility challenges.

For many people, the right prosthetic or orthotic solution can mean the difference between simply getting through the day and fully participating in life.

Why Ethnocare Is Participating

At Ethnocare, we believe movement should not be treated as a luxury.

Through solutions like the Overlay, our mission is to help people with limb loss manage daily prosthetic challenges such as socket discomfort, limb volume variation, heat, and sweat.

These challenges can directly impact comfort, confidence, mobility, and quality of life. That is why supporting initiatives like the 28x28 Challenge is so meaningful to us.

The mission of So Every BODY Can Move reflects what we work toward every day: helping people access the tools they need to move with more comfort, freedom, and independence.

Ethnocare Is Sponsoring and Participating

Ethnocare is supporting the 28x28 Challenge as a sponsor, but our involvement goes beyond sponsorship.

Our team members are also participating in the challenge themselves by committing to move throughout the month of July.

For us, this is a way to stand alongside the amputee and mobility community, support advocacy for better access, and help raise awareness about the importance of prosthetic and orthotic care for physical activity.

A Mission That Connects With Our Community

For many people with limb loss or limb difference, access to movement is not only about sports or exercise. It is about being able to participate more fully in everyday life, whether that means going for a walk, playing with family, returning to hobbies, staying active at work, or simply feeling more confident throughout the day. These moments matter, and they are often directly connected to having access to the right prosthetic and orthotic care.

At Ethnocare, we hear from users and clinicians every day about how small improvements in comfort, fit, sweat management, and confidence can make a meaningful difference. When a person feels more secure in their socket, manages discomfort more easily, or feels less limited by heat and sweat, movement becomes more accessible. This is exactly why the mission behind the 28x28 Mobility Challenge resonates so strongly with us.

By supporting So Every BODY Can Move, we are helping raise awareness around a larger issue: access to mobility solutions should not depend on whether a device is considered optional, recreational, or “extra.” For many people, movement is part of health, independence, and quality of life. The 28x28 Challenge is a reminder that better access to prosthetic and orthotic care can help more people stay active, connected, and empowered.

Why Access to Movement Matters

Physical activity is connected to health, confidence, social participation, independence, and overall well-being.

Yet many people with limb loss or mobility challenges still face barriers when trying to access the devices, care, or support they need to stay active.

By supporting the 28x28 Mobility Challenge, Ethnocare is helping amplify the message that movement matters, and that every body deserves the opportunity to move.
